Dr Peter Zafiropoulos
Principal Dentist
Born and raised in Altona North, Dr Peter isn’t just your local dentist – he’s part of the community. After graduating with Honours in Dental Science from the University of Melbourne in 1990, he founded Altona Gate Dental in 1996 to bring exceptional, personalised care to his own neighbourhood.
With over 25 years of experience and hundreds of hours in advanced training across implants, orthodontics, cosmetic and restorative dentistry, Peter blends skill with genuine care. A proud Bulldogs supporter and devoted dad of five, he’s known for his friendly nature, steady hand, and ability to make every patient feel at ease – whether it’s a simple check-up or a complete smile transformation.
Carmen Cham
Oral Health Therapist
Carmen earned her Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Melbourne in 2011 and has been a trusted and much-loved member of our team since 2012. With over a decade of experience, she provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Carmen has a particular interest in gum health and the prevention and management of periodontal disease, helping patients maintain confident, healthy smiles for life.
Known for her calm and caring nature, Carmen makes every visit a comfortable experience, especially for those who feel anxious about dental treatment. Outside the clinic, she enjoys quality time with her family and young son. When she’s not busy with them, you’ll often find her in the garden, nurturing her growing passion for flowers and nature.
Kiara Montalto
Oral Health Therapist
Kiara completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Melbourne in 2023 and provides gentle, comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Passionate about children’s oral health, she focuses on creating positive dental experiences from an early age, offering treatments such as stainless steel crowns and silver diamine fluoride.
Her warm, approachable nature helps children and families feel right at home from the moment they walk through the door. Outside of work, Kiara enjoys balancing her love for fitness with her sweet tooth – often found at the gym one day and exploring dessert menus the next. She loves trying new cuisines at local restaurants or unwinding with a good romance or fantasy novel.
